About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Analyst to join our team at AXIS Capital. As a Data Governance Analyst, you will play a critical role in building the core foundations that will revolutionize the way data is thought about and used at our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head of Data Governance in designing and implementing data governance policies, frameworks, and standards that enable work to be approached in a consistent way.
  • Work closely with data owners and data stewards to ensure data ownerships and responsibilities are clearly defined, and data definitions are agreed.
  • Collaborate with the Data Architecture team to ensure our future data governance processes and procedures are in line with the strategic architecture.
  • Support the Data Quality team in designing and implementing controls across the underwriting data lifecycle.
  • Work with the Business Transformation Services team to evaluate and implement data governance tooling.
  • Build and maintain a central data catalogue, develop data definitions, and make them accessible and useful for the organization.
  • Support master data management and reference data management strategies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on data governance topics, sharing guidance and support with data owners and data stewards across the organization.
Requirements
  • 3-6 years of experience in data governance, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Working knowledge of insurance industry data and information needs of the underwriting function.
  • Solid understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks and how to support their practical implementation.
  • Familiarity with data quality tools and data governance tools.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, ability to win confidence of business stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, methodological approach to analyze data and information and propose solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, demonstrated through real work examples.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple activities and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with a practical implementation of data domains and data product approach.
  • Technical/implementation knowledge around technology and tools used in support of governance.
  • Understanding of data modeling.
