Safety and Compliance Specialist

Located in Fort McMurray, AB, we are seeking a highly skilled Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team at the Syncrude site. This is a temporary position with a competitive salary of $**100,000 - 120,000 per year**.

About the Role:
This role requires an individual who can conduct field tours, worker observations, and work site safety inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. You will also investigate incidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions, completing incident causation analysis and developing recommendations.
In addition to these duties, you will create, develop, and support toolbox talks and safety meetings, review procedures, and ensure compliance with current OHS & client standards. You will participate in field audits and inspections, perform general administrative duties, and maintain a working knowledge of current OH&S legislation and company policies.
Requirements:
We require a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Class 5 License (or equivalent) with a satisfactory 3-year Drivers Abstract, and a valid ACSA auditor certificate. You should have valid CSTS & OSSA/CSO/BSO training, and ideally, NCSO or CRSP/CSP designation. Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential. At least 3 years of field industry experience in an Oil and Gas and Mining environment is required, with expertise in investigations and root cause analysis.
