Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

As a key member of our team, the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety laws, regulations, and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support and advice to all levels within the organization regarding OH&S laws, regulations, and standards.
- Drive and support the Incident Investigation and Injury Management process. Recommend corrective actions. Track proper implementation.
- Monitor safety performance across the business location, analyze stats & trends, and support business management in the development of corrective and preventive action plans to improve performance to meet and exceed goals.
- Be accessible by various levels within the organization as an impartial resource for environmental, health, and safety concerns.
- Develop and implement training material and EHS policies. Perform EHS orientations. Train employees on general/basic safety-related subjects.
- Responsible of safety-related databases (Safety record spreadsheet, Incident Database).
- Be the advisor of the EHS Committee.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Health & Safety role.
- NCSO, CSO or similar designation. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and/or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification is preferred.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, individual and team-based settings.
- Demonstrated communication, reporting, and leadership team skills are essential.
