Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our team at Kiewit. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to our project teams, driving the development of HR-related strategies, and ensuring their effective implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Human Resources Planning and Management
    • Develop and implement HR plans and strategies to support business objectives.
    • Collaborate with project leaders to identify HR needs and develop solutions.
  • Workforce Planning and Talent Management
    • Develop succession plans and skill gap analysis to ensure a strong and diverse workforce.
    • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Program Execution and Employee Support
    • Provide HR guidance and support to project teams, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Act as a liaison with HR support teams to ensure the delivery of HR services and exceed internal client needs.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in Human Resources, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and provincial employment laws.
    • Ability to communicate and influence individuals and groups to gain buy-in and acceptance of new ideas and approaches.
    • Proven ability to take initiative and build strong and productive work relationships.
