Director of Pharmacy Business Development

MCD McKesson Canada Corporation / La Corporation McKesson Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director of Pharmacy Business Development. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Business Development, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing business strategies aimed at preserving and increasing our Retail Banner market share and store count.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Startup Projects
The Director of Pharmacy Business Development will lead startup projects by identifying potential sites, building a business case in close collaboration with finance, legal, operations, and store design & planning, and identifying the best pharmacist for the locations. They will also support the operation teams for store opening.
Assess New OpportunitiesThe incumbent will assess new potential opportunities (greensites) proposed by our current members to assist them in building a business case for the potential location. They will present their business case to executives for approval.
Full Transaction ProcessThe Director of Pharmacy Business Development will be responsible for the full transaction process (buying and selling pharmacies) in close collaboration with internal groups (finance, legal, and operations) and external partners (banks, lawyers, accountants, etc.).
Business Development and NetworkingThe incumbent will approach new potential prospects, leverage networks, and sell the full value proposition of our Retail Banners. They will also participate in industry events to identify potential new clients, promote our Retail Banners, and monitor market trends.
Competitive Market AnalysisThe Director of Pharmacy Business Development will perform a regular competitive market analysis to adapt our offers and remain competitive.
Business RelationshipsThe incumbent will maintain and develop strong business relationships with various executive stakeholders, including banking agents, accounting firms, real estate brokers, and lawyers.
Brand Image and StandardsThe Director of Pharmacy Business Development will promote the importance of our brand image and standards to maintain a strong brand image in the market place and member engagement.
Minimum QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:
- A college degree in administration, finance, or management, and/or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- 5+ years of sales or business development experience in the pharmaceutical or related field.
- A valid Canadian Driver's License.
- Strong background in negotiation, territory management, and networking.
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry is an asset.
- Good understanding of the retail pharmacy business model and how it relates to profitability for our members is considered an asset.
