Pharmacy Business Development Director

Position Overview
The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Director of Business Development. Utilizing exceptional negotiation abilities and a comprehensive understanding of the pharmacy retail landscape, the incumbent will be tasked with executing strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing McKesson's Retail Banner market presence and expanding store operations.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate new projects by pinpointing potential locations, developing a robust business case in collaboration with finance, legal, operations, and store design teams, and identifying top-tier pharmacists through a meticulous selection process for new or existing pharmacy sites.
- Evaluate new business opportunities (greensites) proposed by current members, assisting them in crafting a compelling business case for these potential locations. The Business Development Executive will be responsible for presenting this case to senior executives for endorsement.
- Oversee the entire transaction process related to the acquisition and divestiture of pharmacies, working closely with internal departments (finance, legal, operations) and external partners (banks, legal advisors, accountants).
- Engage with prospective clients and leverage professional networks to effectively communicate the comprehensive value proposition of McKesson's banners, developing and presenting business cases to the executive team for approval. Attend industry events to scout for new clients, advocate for retail banners, and keep abreast of market dynamics.
- Conduct regular competitive market analyses to refine our offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
- Foster and nurture strong professional relationships with key stakeholders, including banking representatives, accounting firms, real estate agents, and legal counsel.
- Emphasize the significance of brand integrity and standards to uphold a strong market presence and enhance member engagement.
Minimum Qualifications:
A college degree in administration, finance, or management, complemented by relevant education and experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or business development within the pharmaceutical sector or a related field.
A valid Canadian Driver's License is required.
Essential Competencies:
- A solid foundation in negotiation, territory management, and networking.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is advantageous.
- A strong grasp of the retail pharmacy business model and its implications for profitability for our members is considered beneficial.
