About the Role:

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, Faculty Development and Support to lead a team in developing and delivering mental health professional development initiatives and programs for faculty and academic staff at the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to develop and deliver mental health professional development initiatives and programs for faculty and academic staff.
  • Build the Division's capacity to identify and support faculty and academic staff in crisis.
  • Ensure comprehensive coordination, development, and implementation of high-risk, safety, crisis, and issues response.
  • Collaborate with various offices, including Campus Safety, Human Resources, Labour Relations, Student Affairs, and senior leadership in academic and administrative units and colleges.
  • Assess, intake, and/or establish a case management plan for critical issues pertaining to faculty and academic staff.
  • Draft, develop, and implement alternative resolution pathways and restoration plans.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in a related field or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 6-7 years of relevant experience in a university, public sector, or research-intensive setting leading professional development programming.
  • Strong familiarity, understanding, and experience in working with individuals with mental health issues and illnesses.
  • Registered Social Worker in good standing with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with relevant Ontario and Canadian statutes, including the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applied Suicide Intervention on Skills Training (ASIST) certification.
  • Psychological First Aid Training (Red Cross) certification.
  • Emergency Management, Mental Health, Alternate Resolution, Critical Issue Investigations, Workplace Restoration, and Conflict Resolution training.

The University of Toronto offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a competitive salary range of $118,368 - $138,097, and a broad band salary range of $118,368 - $197,280.
