As the Associate Director, Faculty Development and Support, you will play a key role in building the Faculty of Arts and Science's capacity to identify and support individuals in crisis, ensuring comprehensive coordination, development, and implementation of high-risk, safety, crisis, and issues response.


You will lead a team to develop and deliver mental health professional development initiatives and programs, working collaboratively with various offices, senior leadership, and academic units to assess, intake, and establish case management plans for critical issues. Your expertise in crisis management, alternate resolutions, and restorations will be essential in drafting, developing, and implementing alternative resolution pathways and restoration plans.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead professional development programming for faculty and academic staff, focusing on mental health and crisis management.
  • Collaborate with offices, senior leadership, and academic units to assess and address critical issues, ensuring comprehensive coordination and development of case management plans.
  • Draft, develop, and implement alternative resolution pathways and restoration plans, leveraging your expertise in crisis management and alternate resolutions.
  • Work with a trauma-informed systems approach, applying knowledge of the nexus between trauma and threat assessment to inform your work.

Qualifications:



  • Graduate degree in a related field, such as social work, psychology, or public health, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 6-7 years of relevant experience in a university, public sector, or research-intensive setting, leading professional development programming and crisis management initiatives.
  • Strong familiarity and experience working with individuals with mental health issues and illnesses, with a focus on trauma-informed care and crisis management.
  • Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, or a related professional designation.

  • A competitive salary range of $118,368 - $138,097, with a broad band salary range of $118,368 - $197,280.
