Indigenous Studies Professor

We invite applications for a sessional lecturer to teach the course Indigenous People and Human Services at Thompson Rivers University.
This is an excellent opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with students, shaping the next generation of social workers.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Social Work or a related field, as well as significant teaching and practice experience with Indigenous communities.
The salary for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities- Critically examine the historical process of colonization in Canada and its impact on Indigenous peoples.
- Analyze contemporary issues and the movement toward self-determination in relation to social work theory and practice.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and a commitment to creating time and space for relationships based on respect as human beings. They will also have the ability to commit to creating culturally appropriate curricula and promoting intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect.
