With our centre for wildfire research, education, and innovation (TRU Wildfire), we aim to address this pressing issue through partnership with British Columbia Wildfire Services and the Government of British Columbia.
Job DescriptionThe Department of Natural Resource Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position in the area of wildfire science. As an assistant/associate professor, you will contribute to teaching and research in this field, develop courses focused on wildfire science, assist in developing additional programming, participate in departmental committees, and establish a robust research program.
You will be part of a vibrant interdisciplinary Faculty of Science, offering certificate, diploma, bachelor, and masters degree credentials in natural, applied, and health sciences. Our department has fourteen full-time faculty members, with four research chairs and ten research and teaching faculty.
QualificationsWe seek an exceptional candidate with experience and graduate education in wildfire science or a closely related discipline. The ideal candidate will have a PhD with a focus on wildfire science, teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and excellent communication skills. Preferred qualifications include experience teaching courses in wildfire science, training in resource management, and interaction with natural resource agencies and diverse stakeholders.
