Job Description:

This role is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of human resource strategies, programs, and plans to support annual corporate business plans for Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE) and its sister company, Toptable Group (Toptable).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Execute Human Resource Strategies: Contributes to the development of the annual People Business Plan and leads the development and execution of departmental goals and objectives that fall within their area of responsibility.
  2. Drive Recruitment and Onboarding Efforts: Proactively drives the development and execution of new, competitive and creative human resource strategies, programs, and initiatives in recruitment and onboarding, employee experience, retention and recognition, training and development, benefits administration, and performance management.
  3. Mentor and Lead Team Members: Leads, mentors, and motivates employees of the People Department in day-to-day operations fostering an environment that is conducive to a collaborative, high-performance/highly motivated team, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement.
  4. Investigate Complex Complaints: Investigates and handles to conclusion, what are sometimes complex complaints submitted to the People Department (e.g. harassment, human rights, union grievances, etc.).
Requirements:
  1. Senior HR Professional: A senior Human Resource professional with 10 years' progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior capacity, and experience in a hospitality and/or sports & entertainment industry preferred.
  2. Demonstrated Expertise: Senior level expertise in all aspects of HR including but not limited to employee & labour relations, training & development, recruitment, immigration, benefits administration, conducting investigations.
  3. Strong Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse clients, with solid interpersonal and communication skills.
