About the Role

We're seeking an Maintenance Technician Assistant to join our team. As an apprentice, you'll work closely with experienced mechanics to learn the ins and outs of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on our fleet, adhering to established best practices.
  • Conduct brake, safety, and emissions inspections according to Ministry and company standards.
  • Assist with roadside breakdown repairs and provide troubleshooting guidance to drivers.
  • Inspect and maintain wheelchair ramps, hoisting devices, and safety equipment.
  • Participate in property maintenance and upkeep.
  • Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and supply management.
  • Ensure drivers have access to necessary supplies, such as fuel, oil, and fluids.
  • Help ensure fleet readiness during inclement weather.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Comply with WHMIS regulations and environmental/occupational safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • Pursuing a college education in an approved apprenticeship program.
  • Familiarity with gasoline and diesel engines, with hydraulic and pneumatic experience a plus.
  • A valid Class 'G' driver's license.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year
