About the OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse to join our Parkland Ancaster team in Ancaster, Ontario. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- You will perform initial and ongoing assessments of residents' needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans that promote their overall well-being.
- You will order, administer, and store medications and treatments in compliance with facility policies, pharmacy guidelines, and College of Nurses standards.
- You will adhere to the legislation of the RHRA and enforce compliance mandates under the direction of the Director of Care.
- You will manage the department in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager, overseeing staffing, equipment maintenance, supply ordering, and receiving.
- You will direct, assign, and evaluate the work of personal support attendants, ensuring they provide excellent support to our residents.
- You will assist in resident orientation, document incidents and complaints, and follow up with the Supervisor or Manager promptly.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A Diploma in Practical Nursing and registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Experience working with seniors in a seniors' living or long-term care environment, with a passion for delivering high-quality care.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Current CPR & Emergency First Aid Certification and a Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
