Job Description

Job Title: Inclusive Education Specialist

Job Summary:

School District No. 57 is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Inclusive Education Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the educational and social functioning of all students in our district.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of students to identify areas of strength and need, and develop targeted intervention strategies to support their academic and social growth.
  • Collaborate with school and district staff to design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based intervention measures that promote student success.
  • Provide written reports on all formal casework, highlighting student progress and areas for continued support.
  • Consult with teachers, principals, and administrators to develop and implement policies and programs that support student diversity and inclusion.
  • Design and deliver professional development sessions for teachers, parents, and other professionals to enhance their knowledge and skills in supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Conduct and disseminate research to inform best practices in inclusive education and promote student success.
  • Determine the need for referrals to other school district professionals and outside agencies to ensure students receive comprehensive support.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Educational Psychology or a related field, including a successful practicum placement.
  • Eligibility for registration with the BC College of Psychologists or certification with the BC Association of School Psychologists.
