Perinatal Nursing Leadership Position

Overview:
The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Perinatal Nurse Consultant to lead our Reproductive Care Program. This position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to make a significant impact on maternal and infant health care in the province.
About the Role:
This permanent, full-time position will require the successful candidate to provide leadership in perinatal quality reviews, develop and implement education programs, and create evidence-based guidelines and resources that reflect current standards of care. You will work closely with a team of professionals to support interprofessional teams of health professionals throughout Nova Scotia.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Quality Improvement: Provide leadership to provincial and national committees, lead perinatal quality reviews, and determine priorities through data analysis.
- Education and Training: Develop and provide education programs, provincial orientation, and practice support to interprofessional teams.
- Resource Development: Implement provincial resources, create and implement evidence-based guidelines, and professional practice resources that reflect current standards of care.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with medical advisors, data analysts, and other stakeholders to prioritize and organize care in response to the needs and outcomes experienced by pregnant individuals and newborns in Nova Scotia.
Requirements:
- Credentials: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Master of Nursing/Health Care/Education, and current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia are required.
- Experience: Minimum five years' experience with clinical expertise in perinatal/perinatal-newborn nursing, operational or practice leadership experience, and at least three years' progressive leadership experience.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent organizational skills, superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and sound knowledge of maternal and infant health care across the continuum are essential.
Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this position is $46.55 - $57.49 per hour, based on the location and requirements outlined in the job description.
