About this Role:

You'll lead the advancement and optimization of the data analytics behind our SaaS platform. This role requires a blend of data and carbon analytics, team leadership, and understanding of customer decarbonization challenges.

You'll be responsible for managing large datasets, leveraging advanced analytical techniques across multiple industries and geographies, and ensuring seamless product execution. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to addressing climate change, strong predictive analytics skills, AI/LLMs knowledge, and ability to engage with customers to support their decarbonization goals.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product development roadmap for our carbon analytics, ensuring close alignment with our engineering roadmap.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic expertise in carbon data science and predictive analytics.
  • Apply expertise in predictive modelling, classification, clustering, and time-series analysis.
  • Accountability for the quality and reliability of data generated by our platform.
  • Engage with B2B and Enterprise customers to understand their business challenges and requirements, and effectively communicate how our solutions can deliver value.
  • Collaborate with our technical and commercial teams to understand customer needs and consistently monitor and improve our data.
  • Foster confidence through your own depth of technical expertise to lead teams as a peer and a mentor.
  • Provide thought leadership in decarbonization and data science, staying ahead of industry trends and continuously innovating to enhance our platform.
  • Monitor the latest advancements within carbon analytics and emerging technologies, proactively recommending new approaches.
  • Support sales and pre-sales activities by assessing our customers' decarbonization opportunities, responding to RFPs, and creating proposal presentations.
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit by determining the necessary steps to advance projects, and proactively addressing challenges as they arise.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA considered an asset.
  • 5-10 years working with sustainability data, carbon analytics, and delivering strategies in energy management, decarbonization, and/or electrification.
  • Proven expertise and in-depth knowledge of sustainability frameworks and carbon reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi, CDP, TCFD, PCAF).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies and frameworks that quantify the economic and environmental benefits of energy efficiency in businesses.
  • Experience working with financial calculations, such as Marginal Abatement Cost Curve (MACC) and Return on Investment (ROI), is an asset.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques, data mining, and predictive modelling is a plus.
  • An understanding of B2B sales, particularly with SaaS, is a strong plus. Ability to effectively communicate product value and build relationships with customers to drive adoption of ESG-related software platforms.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between carbon reporting strategies, technical requirements and product roadmap.
  • Experience in comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities in the decarbonization and carbon analytics space, offering data-driven insights to inform product development, strategic decision-making, and positioning within targeted industries.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering clear, concise reports and presentations to executive leadership, translating complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and analytical information to non-technical stakeholders and clients.
