As a Critical Care Nurse in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill children and their families.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for critical care to join our team. As a member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide comprehensive, holistic care to meet the complex needs of individuals, families, and communities. Your expertise in nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation will be invaluable in promoting health, preventing illness, injury, and disability, or supporting a peaceful death.

You will work collaboratively with patients, families, other nurses, and health team members throughout all stages of health and complexities of illness. Your leadership skills and ability to build professional relationships with colleagues will contribute to the provision of quality patient/family care. You will prioritize the goals and needs of patients and families, utilizing your nursing knowledge, critical thinking, and clinical judgment.

In this role, you will engage in independent, interdependent, and dependent functions to provide healthcare focusing on comprehensive assessment, patient/family education, and coordination of care. You will help build our reputation for excellence in the Maritime community and beyond, contributing to a sustainable healthcare system through formal and informal partnerships.

Your Qualifications
  1. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Program required.
  2. Licensed or eligible for licensure by the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia required.
  3. Current successful completion of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (BLS) Program within the last 12 months required.
  4. Recent critical care experience preferred.
  5. Minimum two (2) years of full-time medical/surgical nursing experience required.
  6. ALS certification is considered an asset and will be required to be obtained within 6-18 months of the position.

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $40 per hour, plus relocation assistance of up to $5,000 for eligible candidates.
