About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Nursing Instructor IV to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $99,059 - $118,220 annually.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating professional development learning experiences for entry-level and specialty-level programming. They will also assist the Nurse Educator in curriculum development through the Learning Institute's Provincial Mandate.

This role promotes the advancement of professional nursing practice within the Nova Scotia healthcare community. The Nursing Instructor IV will maintain and deliver educational programming for Registered Nurses, both in classroom and web-based delivery, adhering to the Registered Nurses Act, Nova Scotia College of Nursing, and Standards of Practice of Registered Nurses.

In addition to their teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will support the Perioperative Nursing Program with a particular focus on blended learning. They will also travel periodically to facilities within Nova Scotia and require a valid driver's license and access to transportation.

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Science of Nursing degree, an active practicing license in good standing with Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN), and a Certificate course or CNA certification in Perioperative nursing. You will also have a minimum of two years' recent and continuous clinical experience in Perioperative Nursing.

Your Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Science of Nursing degree
  • Active practicing license in good standing with Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN)
  • Certificate course or CNA certification in Perioperative nursing
  • Minimum two years' recent and continuous clinical experience in Perioperative Nursing
  • Experience with classroom, online, and skill/simulation teaching
  • Experience with coordinating and implementing skill and simulated-based teaching and assessment methods
  • Previous preceptor experience
