Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Support Specialist to join our team at the Ontario NDP Caucus. As a key member of our staff, you will provide administrative support to our Member and contribute to the success of our office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Office Management
    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Member's Queen's Park Office, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
    • Supervise and coordinate the work of staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve office efficiency and productivity.
  • Communication and Correspondence
    • Respond to and resolve issues and problems, or assign matters to staff members as needed.
    • Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and other documents on behalf of the Member.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, community groups, and other external partners.
  • Research and Advisory Services
    • Monitor legislation and proceedings of the legislature, providing timely and accurate information to the Member.
    • Conduct research and analysis on policy and legislative issues, providing recommendations to the Member.
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of the NDP, the Ontario Government, and public affairs.
  • Qualifications
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the NDP, the Ontario Government, and public affairs.
    • Proven research skills, specifically in the areas of policy and legislative analysis.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, stakeholders, and the public.
    • Second language, both oral and written, is strongly desired.
    • Experience in the labour movement or NDP organization and election campaigns would be an asset.
    • Familiarity with the Member's constituency, critic, and legislative responsibilities, as well as relevant issues.
    • Media relations experience preferred.
