The Role Overview

This position contributes to the success of Scotiabank's National Hospitality team as an Associate Director. The successful candidate will create business development opportunities, build relationships with key referral sources, and cultivate a strong presence in their local market through networking events.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Drive customer-centric culture to deepen relationships and leverage bank resources.
  2. Act as an Industry Specialist providing guidance and expertise.
  3. Develop and execute a business plan to achieve individual objectives and maximize potential from existing clients and new prospects within assigned markets.
  4. Maintain regular sales calls to manage, retain, and expand client relationships.
  5. Establish solid relationships with Hotel Franchisors, Franchisees, and key business referral sources in assigned areas.
  6. Identify and nurture relationships with prospects to secure their business and become their trusted advisor.
  7. Stay updated on Roynat Capital's product offerings (Term, Subordinated Debt, Equity) to identify holistic financial solutions for clients.
  8. Keep abreast of competitors and market trends to adjust business strategies accordingly.
  9. Refer clients/prospects to Scotiabank partners and participate in joint calls as appropriate.
  10. Manage and control assigned loan portfolio to maintain acceptable risk levels and generate suitable returns.
Requirements and Qualifications

This role requires a university degree in Economics, Commerce, Finance, or Accounting, along with 6+ years of commercial credit or analysis experience in a financial services environment. Professional designations like CPA or CFA are strongly preferred. Strong negotiation, risk assessment, and analysis skills are essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. The ideal candidate should possess deal structuring, presentation, and time management skills.
