Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Relationship Manager to join our Corporate Banking team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of syndicated financing accounts, identifying and escalating material risk issues, and building key relationships with chartered bank representatives, lawyers, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of syndicated financing accounts, ensuring accurate risk ratings and timely escalation of material issues
  • Build and maintain key relationships with chartered bank representatives, lawyers, and other stakeholders to foster deal sharing opportunities and drive business growth
  • Structure, negotiate, and document credit and cash management arrangements, ensuring alignment with Meridian's credit policies and risk parameters
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and due diligence activities for syndicated financing loan proposals, ensuring a well-developed understanding of balance sheets, cash flow mechanics, and business plans
  • Stay up-to-date with general issues affecting syndicated financing, including market conditions, industry practices, and financial results for existing and potential members

Requirements:

  • University degree in business or finance or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2-5 years of progressive commercial lending experience in sales/service and managing a diverse portfolio in a commercial banking environment or similar field
  • Proven experience and expertise in structuring, managing, and servicing large, syndicated real estate and construction financing deals
  • Advanced knowledge of business lending policies, complex procedures, techniques, and documentation requirements
  • Extensive credit and non-credit product knowledge, with a desire to enhance the level and breadth of this knowledge base on an ongoing basis
  • Proven origination, business development, relationship building, and portfolio management skills
  • Advanced understanding of credit risk, credit structuring, and underwriting skills
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills (both verbally and in writing)
