- Data Management and Engineering
- Establish data management goals, objectives, and operating procedures to ensure efficient and effective data management.
- Identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities for our data management team and the greater business.
- Lead management reviews and opportunity assessment processes to identify improvement opportunities related to process efficiency, cost savings, business model expansion, and competitive advantages.
- Approve, prioritize, and control projects and the project portfolio related to data management, coordinating with the Project Management Office as needed.
- Ensure continuous delivery of data services through oversight of service level agreements and performance targets.
- Establish a data science practice, including a staffing model and roadmap to demonstrate value to the organization.
- Data Governance
- Champion data governance at BioScript Solutions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Establish data governance roles and identify appropriate players across the organization. Form and oversee the data council.
- Understand and monitor regulatory and security requirements for data related to our industry, ensuring compliance and proper protection.
- Oversee the end-to-end management of our data assets, including data lifecycle and information lifecycle.
- Ensure data system operations adhere to regulatory compliance standards.
- Ensure data assets are managed in a secure manner, adhering to security and privacy requirements.
- Establish controls for ensuring efficient and effective data management functions are performed.
- Reporting and Business Intelligence
- Understand business requirements for data and work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new information technologies, particularly in the areas of business intelligence, analytics, and data warehousing.
- Promote business intelligence program within BioScript Solutions.
- Work with business intelligence specialists and/or competency centers to develop and implement business intelligence metrics.
- Develop, implement, and maintain key business intelligence and data management policies and procedures, including those for business intelligence/enterprise data warehouse architecture, data centers, standards, purchasing, monitoring, and service provision.
- Leadership
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and growth, encouraging team members to share feedback and ideas.
- Commit to regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports to focus on operational and development goals.
- 10+ years' experience working in data management or closely related technology fields.
- 5+ years' experience managing and/or directing a data management operation or team.
- University degree or higher in computer science, business administration, engineering, or similar field.
- Extensive experience with corporate data governance.
- Experience in strategic planning and initiative design.
- Experience or knowledge of data requirements for the specialty pharmaceutical and/or medical industry.
- Knowledge of data management disciplines and familiarity with references such as DMBoK.
- Strong technical knowledge related to IT operations, particularly in technology assets.
- Strong understanding of how different departments will have different data uses and requirements.
- Proven experience in data management planning, organization, and development.
- Strong understanding of project management.
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and ideally both English and French.
- Self-motivated and action-oriented.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
