Job Title: Inside Support Representative

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Inside Support Representative to join our team at Gordon Food Service. As an Inside Support Representative, you will play a critical role in supporting the activities of our outside District Sales Representatives, including order and delivery interaction with customers via telephone, email, and Gordon Ordering. You will also be responsible for seeking growth opportunities in existing customers, strengthening customer relationships, and representing Gordon Food Service branded products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other departments to meet all customer needs, internal reporting, and customer record keeping.
  • Participate in general sales meetings, promotions, and facilitate food show registration. Assist with recall and other information sharing as required.
  • Takes orders from various customers as needed via phone or email.
  • Stays up to date with product offerings, market trends, and customer needs while learning about the organizational offerings and systems.
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills when dealing with unique or difficult situations.
  • Provides support to sales representatives coordinating customer service, orders, credits, etc., during special large events.
  • Supports and assists DSR for vacation coverage and seasonally based on needs.
  • Provides routing assistance for changes to deliveries such as time delays, adjustments in delivery days, etc.
  • Details customer complaints, tracks the same issues that multiple customers have, and reports problems as necessary.
  • Works on the road with sales reps and visits to customers.

Requirements:

  • Must have good customer service and time management skills.
  • Ability to perform 10-key data entry.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with a great attention to detail.
  • Encourages collaboration with others to achieve a common goal.
  • A self-starter that can work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must be a strategic thinker, inquisitive, innovative, and creative in order to build relationships, network, link resources, and apply business practices.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be able to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Ability to learn and use SAP, CRM, Gordon Ordering online, and other various systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, sales, or Marketing preferred.
  • One year previous sales, business, or food service experience with an interest in food business practices and food preparation or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred.
