Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our 5 South unit, providing post-cardiac surgical care to patients. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will assess, coordinate, and evaluate patient care, working collaboratively with Registered Nurses to achieve optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and coordinate patient care, prioritizing tasks and managing workload effectively
  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Participate in continued education and professional development to maintain certifications and stay current with best practices
  • Document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions
Requirements
  • Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in acute care, with a focus on cardiac surgical care
  • Strong IV skills, ECG interpretation, and pacemaker rhythm management
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with moderately complex care requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
