Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our clients, ensuring their health and well-being are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the health status of clients with disabilities and the senior population, providing nursing services within a defined scope of practice.
  • Ensure the security and safety of clients, staff, and guests, taking appropriate action in emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of our clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a vocational, college, or other approved program for licensed practical nurses and registration with a regulatory body are required.
  • Must have successfully completed the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Examination and possess a current Registered Nursing Certificate of Competence for the Province of Ontario.
  • Knowledge of Behaviour Strategies is an asset, and may be required to pursue a certificate in Bliss Symbols and/or sign language.
  • Experience as an RPN working with persons with a disability and the senior population is an asset.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to use tact and discretion and display professionalism at all times; demonstrate sound judgment and flexibility and be able to solve problems effectively.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job such as lifting and transferring of residents.
