Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre. As a member of our healthcare team, you will provide patient care within the scope of practice of a Registered Practical Nurse.

Unit Summary

The Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre is a comprehensive cancer centre that offers a diverse range of patient care services, including medical and intensive care services, surgery, oncology, hematology-oncology, stem cell transplants, orthopedics, arthroplasty, rehabilitation, and diagnostics. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients with malignant hematological diseases.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care within the scope of practice of a Registered Practical Nurse
  • Work closely with the RN and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Set priorities and organize work in response to patient needs
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans
Requirements
  • Current certification of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
  • Current certifications in medication administration, enteral nutrition, VIA gastrostomy tube, urinary bladder catheterization, transcription of physician orders, advanced wound care, and airway management
  • Recent experience in an acute setting
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced environment with unpredictable patient outcomes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team
