About the Role

Fraser Health is seeking a Mental Health Care Worker to join our team.

Job Description
  • Assist in providing psychosocial rehabilitative activities, self-care, and structured group activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse.
  • Maintain a safe environment and monitor patients' status, ensuring their well-being and safety.
  • Transport patients to off-site appointments as needed.
  • Participate in daily routines, including assisting patients with personal care, feeding, and mobility needs.
  • Record observations and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing personal care services, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting, as needed.
  • Assisting patients with mealtime activities, including preparing and serving meals.
  • Escorting patients to treatment or diagnostic procedures.
  • Participating in unit-based activities, including social skills training and therapeutic groups.
  • Maintaining accurate records of patient interactions and progress.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Grade 10 plus completion of a recognized Mental Health Care Worker program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
