Compounding Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compounding Technician to join our team at Deciem.

About the Role

This is a dynamic opportunity for an experienced technician to work in a fast-paced environment, responsible for compounding various products according to SOPs and Master Formulas. The ideal candidate will have strong English communication skills, math skills, and the ability to multitask while wearing a mask or respirator when needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process batches within specifications to meet department batch execution targets by ensuring optimal cycle time in support of schedule adherence.
  • Dismantle, clean, sanitize, and assemble processing equipment according to established SODs to ensure GMP compliance and meet department changeover targets in support of reliability and productivity goals.
  • Compound all sorts of batches, including aqueous based products, O/W, W/O, and anhydrous products as per SOPs and Master Formulas.
  • Check pre-weighed raw materials and dispense raw materials safely when required.
  • Operate various equipment, including fully and semi-automatic kettles, pumps, agitators, hoists, and scales, and perform calibration checks for scales, gauges, and mixers.
  • Collect representative samples of product batches and coordinate with the R&D team to ensure the finished product matches the standard.
  • Clean and sanitize batching kettles according to Standard Operating Procedure.
  • Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and report any workplace injuries or accidents.
  • Complete documents, such as batch records, C&S logs, housekeeping logs, and other documents as required, right at first time.
  • Maintain general housekeeping of the compounding area, including keeping pipes, hoses, clamps, gaskets, and other processing equipment off the floor and in proper storage areas.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work while wearing a mask or respirator when needed.
  • Strong English communication skills and math skills (addition, subtraction, division, fractions).
  • Must be able to actively listen and receive coaching as required.
  • Individual will be required to learn and adhere to GMP compliance requirements.
  • Multitasking and ability to focus on executing priorities as directed by the area Supervisor.
  • Must be very detail-oriented and have working knowledge and understanding of WHMIS.
