Senior Project Manager

Ontario Shipyards is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our shipyard operations. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing major government projects, including vessel life extensions and new build construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Lead and guide project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Communication: Manage project communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met.
- Project Scope Definition: Collaborate with the Tendering Department to define project scope and objectives.
- Scheduling and Resource Management: Develop project schedules and resource allocation plans to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Task Management: Assign, prioritize, and supervise project tasks to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
- Cost Management: Manage project resources and costs to ensure budget compliance.
- Performance Monitoring: Track project performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and report to the Director of Project Management & Engineering on a regular basis.
- Change Management: Implement and manage changes to project scope, schedule, or budget.
- Risk Management: Identify, prevent, and manage project risks to ensure successful project delivery.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet quality and industry standards.
- Client Satisfaction: Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and issue resolution.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with production managers and supervisors to ensure project teams have the necessary resources and information to deliver projects successfully.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement continuous improvement practices to enhance project delivery and efficiency.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to the Project Management Department as needed.
- Education: Degree or diploma in marine engineering, naval architecture, or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on marine repair, maintenance, and construction.
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to invoke change and buy-in on novel concepts and programs. Ability to read and understand engineered design drawings. Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, and Project), CAD, etc.
