Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Environmental Project Engineer to join our North American team in a Project Engineering Design and Construction role, with a specialization in contaminated sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support strategic pursuits focused on federal sector and private industrial clients.
  • Provide senior leadership and mentorship for environmental remediation projects.
  • Work within multi-disciplinary project teams, providing environmental advice to other GHD teams.
  • Remain current on standard methodologies for innovative remediation approaches.
  • Manage design projects, including project teams, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Manage the development and review of technical environmental reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Opportunity to work on local, national, and global projects, which may require some travel.
  • Support and mentor junior team members in a learning and collaborative atmosphere.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience.
  • Accredited Professional Engineer in Canada or the US.
  • Civil or environmental engineering degree.
  • Possession of a designation to be used to stamp/certify designs.
  • Experience with developing and implementing strategies for complex remediation and/or risk management.
  • Experience in the technical delivery of investigations, designs, including drawings and specifications, and construction support for environmental remediation projects in Canada and the US.
  • Experience and desire to provide high-profile clients with responsive and innovative solutions.
  • Experience working on Canadian and/or US Federal projects is considered an asset.
  • Proven experience in client advocacy while developing trusted relationships with regulators.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian (including Ontario) environmental legislation.
  • Understanding of US environmental legislation is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and report writing skills.
  • Strong commitment to client service excellence.
