Occupational Therapist Specialist for Complex Mental Health Cases

About the Role:
The Occupational Therapist II - Complex ADHD Treatment Team (CATT) is a challenging and rewarding position that requires expertise in occupational therapy to provide consultation to professionals and assessment of children and adolescents with complex mental health issues and associated developmental, cognitive, and behavioral disorders.
This role involves working collaboratively with the Manager of Child & Adolescent Addiction & Mental Health & Psychiatry Program (CAAMHPP), Specialized Services, to provide family-centered care and liaison with relevant community agencies, including schools. Responsibilities may include participation in case conferences, staff meetings, professional development, program evaluation, student education, and other related duties as required.
As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible for managing caseloads effectively and working collaboratively with families and other professionals to formulate assessments, meaningful case plans, and facilitate referrals as requested. You will also explore presenting problems from a client-focused perspective and assess clients' coping skills and social support systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine need for OT services in collaboration with other professionals
- Provide Occupational Therapy Assessment and Consultation
- Work with other Clinic professionals to contribute to a mental health assessment and to provide clarity regarding a DSM-V diagnosis
- Manage caseloads effectively and work collaboratively with families and other professionals to formulate assessments, meaningful case plans, and facilitate referrals as requested
Required Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) is also required.
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is $95,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additional benefits, such as comprehensive health and dental coverage, pension plan, and paid time off, are also offered.
