Occupational Therapist II

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our team in the Complex ADHD Treatment Team. The successful candidate will provide consultation to professionals and/or assessment of children and adolescents with complex mental health issues and associated developmental, cognitive, and behavioral disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides Occupational Therapy Assessment and Consultation
  • Works with other Clinic professionals to contribute to a mental health assessment and to provide clarity regarding a DSM-V diagnosis
  • Manages caseload effectively and works collaboratively with the family and other professionals in a timely manner to formulate assessments, meaningful case plans, and facilitate referrals as requested
  • Explores presenting problem(s) from a client-focused perspective and assesses client's coping skills and social support systems
  • Collaborates with the family and community Service provider and other professionals to develop and facilitate the most appropriate service plan
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of DSM-V diagnosis
  • Brain Story Certification
  • School-based experience
  • Knowledge of community resources for clients and families
  • Experience working with Neurodevelopmental disorders
  • Experience working with Psychosis
