Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible for providing consultation to professionals and assessment of children and adolescents with complex mental health issues and associated developmental, cognitive, and behavioral disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation to professionals and assessment of children and adolescents with complex mental health issues and associated developmental, cognitive, and behavioral disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each client.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to clients and their families.
  • Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and professional development activities to stay current with best practices and evidence-based treatments.
  • Supervise students and team members as assigned.
  • Ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy required; Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or other relevant area preferred.
  • Active registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
