Job Title: Occupational Therapist II

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist II to join our team in the Complex ADHD Treatment Team. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will play a critical role in providing consultation and assessment services to children and adolescents with complex mental health issues and associated developmental, cognitive, and behavioral disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consultation and assessment services to children and adolescents with complex mental health issues and associated developmental, cognitive, and behavioral disorders.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to contribute to a mental health assessment and provide clarity regarding a DSM-V diagnosis.
  • Manage caseload effectively and work collaboratively with families and other professionals to formulate assessments, meaningful case plans, and facilitate referrals as requested.
  • Explore presenting problem(s) from a client-focused perspective and assess client's coping skills and social support systems.
  • Collaborate with families and community service providers to develop and facilitate the most appropriate service plan.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
  • Knowledge of DSM-V diagnosis preferred.
  • Brain Story Certification preferred.
  • School-based experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources for clients and families preferred.
  • Experience working with Neurodevelopmental disorders preferred.
  • Experience working with Psychosis preferred.
