About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Credit Risk Manager to join our team at the Bank of Montreal.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will use their expertise in credit portfolio management policies and procedures, and financing guidelines to provide independent review and adjudication of credit applications and transactions for assigned portfolios within credit limits.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provides expert advice on credit risk management and mitigation strategies to senior leaders.
  • Manages resources to deliver on business goals and objectives.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive information management systems to improve processes and analysis.
  • Integrates information from multiple sources to enable efficient processes and enhanced analysis.
  • Defines business requirements for analytics and reporting to inform business decision making.
  • Breaks down strategic problems to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders for making business decisions and implementing strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Typically 9+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Credit qualifications and associated knowledge and skills according to established qualification standards.
  • Expert knowledge of credit portfolio management policies and procedures, and financing guidelines.
  • Able to manage ambiguity.
  • Data-driven decision making - Expert.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package varies based on pay type and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other perks and rewards.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
