The Alberta Pensions Services Corporation seeks an experienced senior leader to fill the role of Vice President, Pensions Services. This position requires a collaborative and growth-oriented individual who can foster a client service mindset within their team.

As a member of the executive team, you will participate in the development and execution of APS's strategic plan. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure operational excellence by meeting or exceeding established metrics and targets.

You will oversee and direct various departments, including Employer Services, Member Services Centre, Client Operations, Pensions Policy, and Actuarial services. Key areas of oversight include:

  • Strategic Vision and Leadership: Partner with the CEO and executive team to set financial and strategic goals. Develop business strategies that align with short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Operations and Client Service Excellence: Oversee business operations, ensuring they exceed established service level standards. Support the implementation of client strategies for member, employer, and pensioner services.
  • Actuarial Services and Policy: Manage the collection and preparation of information related to potential plan rule changes. Collaborate with staff, Alberta Treasury Board and Finance, and pension plan staff to document proposed changes.

You will have proven experience in senior leadership roles, demonstrating a vision-oriented mindset and strong organizational skills. A Master's degree with 5-10 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with 10-15 years of experience is required. You should possess advanced knowledge of the pension industry and competitive climate. Financial acumen and ability to manage strategic finance processes are also necessary.

The estimated salary range for this role is between $150,000 and $200,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will excel in strategic leadership, planning and execution, and risk management. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, motivating and inspiring teams, fostering an inclusive environment.
