Financial Advisor Role

Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking to make a difference in the financial services industry? We're seeking a skilled Financial Advisor to join our team at MD Financial Management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Prepare and execute quarterly business plans to aid in the meeting of individual, regional, and corporate targets.
  • Actively participate in prospecting and identify new business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, including risk management, estate planning, liability management, cash flow/budgeting, education funding, tax, retirement planning, investment management, practice management, and goal setting.
  • Prepare and present financial plans and specific investment strategies to clients.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and MD's program and process requirements.
  • Conduct financial planning seminars and information meetings to educate clients on new strategies, legislative changes, and MD Management's programs.
  • Collaborate with centers of influence to increase visibility of products and services.
  • Stay current on issues affecting clients' financial affairs, including income tax, investment trends, and products.
  • Provide input to marketing and management on potential new products and services.
  • Travel within established travel circuits to meet with clients and prospects.
Requirements:
  • University degree in business, commerce, or a related field.
  • CIRO (IIROC) licensed as a Registered Representative with completion of the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct & Practices Handbook, and 90-day training.
  • Completion of the Group Annuity Sector (PQPAV) (Quebec offices only); Life License (LLQP) (all other provinces), and willingness to complete other regulatory requirements.
  • Previous lending experience considered an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial planning and good product knowledge.
  • Demonstrated track record of above-average sales in a financial services or related environment.
  • 2+ years of financial planning experience within the financial services industry.
