As a Teaching Assistant for COE838 Systems-on-Chip Design at Toronto Metropolitan University, you will be responsible for supporting the instructor in preparing for labs and tutorials, grading lab-related assessments, and preparing lab materials. You will also be involved in invigilating midterm and final exams, supervising and facilitating labs, and proctoring in lab tests, exams, and quizzes. Your duties will include demonstrating and explaining the use of equipment, helping students perform technical procedures, and assisting students in project work in specified laboratories.
Contract Hours and Compensation
Teaching Assistants are expected to work up to a maximum of 130 hours per term or 390 hours per academic year. Your rate of pay will be determined based on your qualifications and the number of hours you work. Please note that employees can work up to a maximum of 130 hours per term or 390 hours per academic year. Employees shall not be guaranteed work and when not on assignment they shall not receive any pay or payment in lieu of benefits.
Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, you must be a current Toronto Metropolitan University graduate student in MASc or PhD. Preference will be given to students who have a strong research background and in-depth knowledge of the subject material. Relevant software/hardware experience in the subject matter is also required. Past TA/GA experience is an asset. You will be responsible for completing online training, which includes Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Workplace Violence Prevention and Response, Access to Information and Protection of Privacy, Environmental Health and Safety, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
