About the Role

The Bereavement Coordinator is a key member of the Palliative Care team at Nova Scotia Health, responsible for providing leadership and support to healthcare professionals in meeting the complex bereavement needs of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with and educate healthcare professionals on grief and bereavement support
  • Develop and coordinate a bereavement program for the Palliative Care Service
  • Work with local community groups to promote grief literacy and partnerships
  • Provide resources and support to staff and volunteers

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW)
  • Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience in a Palliative Care setting
  • Experience working within community agencies an asset
