Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented School Custodian to join our team at Ontario Inc. as a permanent employee. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in our office building and school/educational institution setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and well-maintained environment.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment to ensure a safe and functional environment.
  • Perform safety and security checks to ensure the well-being of staff and students.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in an office building and school/educational institution setting, exposed to all weather conditions. The work environment will require the ability to work with minimal supervision and to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities

The successful candidate will be required to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks. The work environment will require the ability to work in all weather conditions and to perform tasks that involve bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Language and Work Term

The successful candidate will be required to work in English and to commit to a permanent work term.

Hours of Work

The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week.
