School Custodian Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented School Custodian to join our team at Ontario Inc. As a School Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs, and empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Operational Support: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse, and wash windows, interior walls and ceilings.
  • Facilities Management: Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment, and perform safety and security checks.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate dependability, excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, initiative, judgement, and reliability.

Work Environment:

  • Work Setting: Office building and school or educational institution/establishment.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting up to 9 kg (20 lbs).

Requirements:

  • Education: No degree, certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: Will train.

Work Term: Permanent. Work Language: English. Hours: 40 hours per week.
