Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented School Custodian to join our team at Ontario Inc. as a permanent employee. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to ensure a clean and well-maintained environment.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment to ensure a safe and functional environment.
  • Perform safety and security checks to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in an office building and school or educational institution/establishment setting, exposed to all weather conditions. The work environment will require the ability to work with minimal supervision and to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but the successful candidate will be willing to train.
  • The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, as well as dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, and reliability.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week in a permanent position, with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The work language is English, and the successful candidate will be required to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
