About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Barakah Inc. as a Head Cook. This is a permanent position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation
    • Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of our customers and align with our company's culinary vision.
    • Source high-quality ingredients and suppliers to ensure consistency and excellence in our dishes.
  • Chef Management
    • Lead and manage a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations.
    • Train and develop staff to improve their skills and knowledge in food preparation and presentation.
  • Food Safety and Quality Control
    • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and safety.
    • Conduct regular kitchen inspections to identify and address any issues or concerns.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage kitchen inventory and supplies to ensure that we have the necessary resources to meet customer demand.
    • Monitor and control food costs to maintain profitability.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards and presented in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Respond to customer feedback and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting
    • Restaurant or similar food service environment.
  • Transportation/Travel Information
    • Own transportation.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
    • Fast-paced environment.
    • Handling heavy loads.
    • Repetitive tasks.
    • Standing for extended periods.
    • Work under pressure.

Language and Work Environment

This is a permanent position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be required to work in a restaurant or similar food service environment and will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service at all times.

The language of work is English.

The work hours are 40 hours per week.
