Job Overview

Alberta Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Child Development Specialist to join our team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

About the Role

This is a permanent position offering 35 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to establish collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children. You will also plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement child-care programs aligned with the needs of the children in our care.
  • Lead activities that stimulate learning and creativity, including storytelling, singing, and outings to local attractions.
  • Guide and assist children in developing essential life skills such as eating, dressing, and using the toilet.
  • Monitor children's progress and identify any potential learning or behavioral issues, preparing reports for parents and guardians as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A college or CEGEP diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience working with children in a similar capacity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others.

Compensation and Work Conditions

The estimated annual salary for this role is $55,000 CAD, based on industry standards and location. The successful candidate will work a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day. A valid Child Development Assistant certification (ECE level 1) is required.
