Job Summary

FUTURESTARS CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team. As an integral part of our childcare centre, you will work closely with early childhood educators to design and implement engaging programs that foster the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

About the Role

We are looking for a candidate who possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that encourages children to learn and grow. Your tasks will include:

  • Bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers;
  • Engaging children in activities through storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts;
  • Assisting early childhood educators in carrying out programs and keeping records;
  • Preparing snacks and arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods;
  • Submitting written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors;
  • Discussing progress and problems of children at staff meetings;
  • Attending staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children;
  • Planning and organizing activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A college or CEGEP diploma;
  • 1-2 years of experience in early childhood education or a related field;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Flexibility and reliability;
  • The ability to work as part of a team and build strong relationships with colleagues and children.
