About the Role

We are seeking a Child Development Specialist to join our team at KITTENS MITTENS CHILDCARE LTD. This is a permanent, full-time position that involves working with children in a child-care program before and after regular school hours.

Job Summary

The Child Development Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement child-care programs that align with our childcare philosophy and ensure the health, security, and well-being of children;
  • Plan and lead activities for school-age children, including storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts;
  • Encourage children to express their creativity through various media, such as art, music, and dramatic play;
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents or guardians;
  • Maintain a safe and engaging environment for children;

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field;
  • 1-2 years of experience in a child-care setting;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Physical ability to keep up with the demands of a fast-paced childcare environment;
