OSI Maritime Systems is a leading provider of integrated navigation and tactical solutions for naval and maritime security operations. With a rich history dating back to 1977, we have revolutionized navigation with our innovative electronic chart systems. Today, our solutions are used by 23 navies, comprising over 600 warships and submarines.
The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing marine navigation and bridge systems for our government and naval markets. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing and defining system requirements, executing system engineering functions, and leading technical projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop system designs, define systems architecture, and document the design by writing technical specifications.
- Analyze and maintain system requirements, ensuring compliance with government standards and regulations.
- Coordinate the design of subsystems and integrate the total system, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Identify and resolve program support deficiencies, recommending corrective actions.
- Design systems to meet government standards, including Military and IMO standards, ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Ensure availability, reliability, and logistics support considerations are integrated into the system design process.
- Review obsolescence issues and recommend design changes to ensure system effectiveness.
- Develop design concepts and generate technical proposals in response to customer requests.
- Lead customer design reviews and acceptance events, ensuring successful project delivery.
- Manage scope of work, schedules, and technical risks, effectively communicating project status to management.
- Degree in Engineering or Physics, or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of engineering experience, with a minimum of 6 years in Systems Engineering.
- Experience in marine electronics and integrated bridge systems is highly desirable.
- Leadership experience in managing teams of engineers on projects.
- Proven track record in delivering engineering-related projects on time.
- Strong knowledge of marine navigation and tactical sensors or systems.
- Excellent knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, standards, and best practices.
- Working experience in network design and architecture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with requirements and verification management tools.
- Knowledge of safety engineering and human factors engineering is an asset.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a location-relevant security clearance.
