The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our engineering team. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of marine navigation and bridge systems for our government and naval markets. You will be responsible for developing system designs, defining systems architecture, and performing trade-studies and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop system designs and define systems architecture
  • Perform trade-studies and document designs
  • Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies
  • Develop and recommend corrective actions
  • Design to government standards, including Military and IMO standards
  • Ensure availability, reliability, and other logistics support considerations are part of the system design process
  • Review obsolescence issues and recommend design changes
  • Develop design concepts and generate technical proposals
  • Lead customer design reviews and acceptance events
  • Lead system integration tests, trials, and acceptance tests
  • Write acceptance test procedures
  • Manage scope of work, schedules, and technical risks

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or Physics, or equivalent experience
  • 8 years engineering experience, minimum 6 years' experience in Systems Engineering
  • Experience in marine electronics and integrated bridge systems a significant asset
  • Experience leading a team of Engineers on projects
  • Proven track record in the timely delivery of engineering-related projects
  • Strong knowledge of marine navigation and tactical sensors or systems
  • Excellent knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, standards, and best practices
  • Working experience in network design and architecture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with requirements and verification management tools
  • Knowledge of safety engineering and human factors engineering an asset
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a location-relevant security clearance
  • Willingness and ability to travel
