We are a leading provider of integrated navigation and tactical solutions designed for naval and maritime security operations. Our company has a rich history of innovation, with many firsts in the maritime market. Today, we operate in 23 navies, with over 600 warships and submarines using our systems.
The RoleWe are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our engineering team. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of our complex products, working with various organizations and system components. You will be responsible for developing system designs, performing functional analysis, defining systems architecture, and ensuring compliance with government standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist senior engineers in developing design concepts and generating technical proposal material.
- Develop system designs, perform functional analysis, define systems architecture, and define interfaces and specifications.
- Perform requirement analysis, traceability, and maintenance of requirements.
- Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies.
- Develop and recommend corrective actions.
- Design to government standards, including Military and IMO standards.
- Ensure availability, reliability, and other logistics support considerations are part of the system design process.
- Review obsolescence issues and recommend design changes.
- Attend and participate in customer design reviews and acceptance events.
- May participate in system integration tests, trials, and acceptance tests at customer facilities.
- Write acceptance test procedures.
- Manage scope of work, schedules work, estimates effort and costs, and identifies technical risks.
- Degree in Engineering or Physics, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
- 4 years' engineering experience, minimum 3 years' experience in Systems Engineering.
- Proven track record in the timely delivery of engineering related projects.
- Strong knowledge of marine navigation and tactical sensors or systems.
- Excellent knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, standards, and best practices.
- Working experience in network design and architecture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with requirements and verification management tools such as DOORS.
- Knowledge of safety engineering and human factors engineering is an asset.
