Mental Health Specialist

Compensation: $62.83-$101.51 per hour
About the Role:
As an integral member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients suffering from mental health conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify treatment needs and goals;
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient requirements;
- Monitor patient progress, making adjustments to treatment as needed, and collaborate with the program psychologist when required;
- Prepare educational sessions using a cognitive behavioral framework;
- Complete timely documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, education, and administrative activities;
- Perform cross-functional duties as assigned and contribute to the growth and development of the team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Health or Social Sciences, or a Master's degree in a related field, with at least two years of relevant experience;
- Membership in good standing with a regulated health profession college (e.g., Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario);
- Additionally, training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from a recognized institution and over two years of practical experience in CBT preferred or supervision/mentorship with an experienced clinician;
- Post-professional training in group facilitation and group/individual counseling desired;
- Experience providing psychotherapeutic assessments and structured psychotherapy treatments for individuals presenting various mental health conditions;
- Clinical competence to deliver structured psychotherapy in areas such as trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and addictions;
- Ability to support clients with disabilities/injuries resulting from workplace or auto-related accidents, including concussions and chronic pain;
- Background in providing group and individual psychotherapy essential;
- Training/certification in crisis intervention beneficial;
- Experience with case management valuable;
- Demonstrated ability to produce detailed, high-quality assessment and treatment reports, and clinical documentation;
- Able to communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment and willing to accept clinical direction.
